Lets do another exercise. From the following text, construct a simple concept that includes at least 4 (four) branching points. It doesn't matter if the ramification is in a concept or in a linking phrase. The exercise only checks for the number of branching points. The map does not need to include the whole text, just enough of it to have four or more ramification points.
Counting branching points may be tricky. Although its not a task that you'll be doing while constructing concept maps, notice that the following two pieces of concept maps are equivalent, and therefore have the same number of branching points: one. The image on the right gives the impression of more branching points than there really are as the linking phrase is repeated.
